INTERACTION WITH ARTISTS Collectors interact with artists honestly and transparently, respecting their views, respecting their independence, and recognizing and compensating for their work. Collectors never use their power or influence to obtain any illegal benefit from artists in financial or personal interests. REWARD TO ARTISTS: FAIR AND WITHOUT DELAY Collectors always offer compensation to artists for any working hours or services they may request (e.g. presentations, texts, installation assistance, performances) and reimburse any associated costs based on the standards of fees existing in the sector. By buying works of art directly from artists, collectors guarantee that artists will be paid a fair market price, and they will receive the proceeds due from the transaction without delay. PROTECTION OF FAIR AND IMMEDIATE COMPENSATION TO ARTISTS Collectors systematically advocate that cultural and art institutions provide artists with adequate production resources so that they compensate artists for exhibited works, any working hours or services that the Institutions may request (e.g. presentations, texts, installation assistance, performances), and reimburse any related costs based on the standards of fees existing in the sector. In addition, when providing works of art from their collection to Institutions, if the Institutions refuse to comply with the standards set out in this paragraph, Collectors should consider refusing to provide works of art after consultation with the artist. I DON'T REQUIRE GIFTS FROM ARTISTS Collectors do not require artists, directly or indirectly, gifts, donations, free works of art, works of art at a price below the fair market or any other advantages. If the authors offer these benefits without request, Collectors should carefully weigh the consequences and expectations associated with accepting these benefits. Collectors never request or accept such benefits if they are related or may seem to have a connection with any role they can perform as members of the governing bodies of cultural and art institutions and foundations. ADVISING ARTISTS IN THEIR INTERESTS Collectors advise artists only on request, always in the interests of artists, and not in their own interests or in the interests of their collection. RESPECTFUL COMMUNICATION WITH ARTISTS Collectors communicate with artists always respectfully and transparently, creating a safe environment for everyone, and systematically avoiding condescending, promising, misleading or dominant language or style. MAINTAINING FAIR AND BALANCED RELATIONSHIPS WITH ARTISTS Interactions of a personal, romantic or sexual nature between Collectors and artists are always based on the free and conscious consent of both parties. Collectors never use their power and influence to impose such interaction in their favour. Sexual harassment is strictly prohibited.
